Position Summary:

We are looking for someone who has experience working with and managing complex tax projects, as well as a deep understanding of the tax implications in M&A transactions.  This role requires someone who strives for continuous improvement, can work independently to support the department and company-wide goals, is detail oriented, has great organization skills, and can multitask with results.

Essential Functions:

  • Lead the tax team in a variety of merger and acquisition activities, including planning, diligence, structuring, and executing post transaction integration.  This includes advising around tax efficiency, benefits and risks of potential transactions, addressing of complex issues related to corporate and partnership transactions, performing analyses to assess the foreign, federal and state tax consequences of transactions, and executing tax integration of acquired enterprises.
  • Manage the tax team’s planning initiatives, including coordination with Treasury and FP&A groups on tax forecasting.
  • Research various international and domestic tax planning issues including operational and transactional tax planning, transfer pricing, intercompany financing, and other international and domestic planning opportunities as they develop.
  • Ensure that tax strategy initiatives are properly incorporated into the tax compliance and accounting processes and are supported on audit.
  • Research tax implications of return filing positions and prepare documentation with applicable facts, analysis, and citations to relevant authority to defend such positions on exam.
  • During periods of downtime, assist the tax team with general corporate and partnership tax matters, including tax compliance and ASC 740
  • Other responsibilities include: performing tax research on complex tax issues, providing support concerning federal, state, and local tax audits, managing special projects, and partnering with corporate business management to ensure tax compliance and optimum efficiency.

Education/Experience/Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; JD or CPA required.
  • 7+ years of experience at a public accounting firm or large multinational company
  • Experience working with and managing complex tax projects as well as a deep understanding of the tax implications of M&A transactions.
  • In depth experience working with complex data and financial models.
  • Successful candidate will be able to:

  • Organize and summarize information in a clear, concise manner, specifically tailored for the intended audience, both within the tax department and among business colleagues
  • Strong technical knowledge of corporate and partnership taxation, including a deep understanding of tax laws and regulations.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think strategically and provide innovative solutions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
