Position Summary:

This position will collaborate with other HR professionals on the team to lead and support a broad range of HR projects and initiatives spanning multiple and distinct businesses.  In addition, this role will be an integral part of the Corporate HR team supporting the day to day HR needs and focused on providing and managing a seamless centralized HR service for all employees in the US and globally.

 

Essential Functions:

•    Respond timely to employee questions and provide support in relation to general benefits, employment issues, policies, pay or other related topics submitted via a centralized HR email system.
•    Review/approve new hires and contingent labor and other employee data changes initiated in our HRIS.
•    Work closely with payroll to ensure the accuracy of pay related data processed on a bi-weekly basis.
•    Acting as a trusted business partner to provide coaching and developmental feedback to managers and employees.
•    Manage and resolve employee relations issues. Conduct effective, thorough and objective investigations and escalate to HR VP to ensure consistency of approach.
•    Manage off boarding employees including exit interviews, analyzing exit survey results and respond to unemployment requests. 
•    Prepare employment and incentive agreements related to title and/or pay changes.
•    Review background checks with concerning results.
•    Develop, recommend and implement HR policies and procedures; prepare and maintain employee handbook on policies and procedures. 
•    Conduct new employee welcome orientation webinars.
•    Oversee HR Coordinator(s).
•    Assist with merger and acquisition activities and other special projects as assigned.
•    Undertake ad-hoc projects both through own initiative and on request to ensure a continually developing and efficient HR function, making a strong contribution to improvements in effectiveness of the organization.
•    Participate in HRIS testing and upgrades.
•    Create adhoc and monthly reports.
•    10% -15% Travel.

Education/Experience/Skills:

•    Bachelor’s degree required (HR or business degree preferred)
•    7-10 years progressive experience within a mid- sized HR department supporting employees across the US.
•    1-2 years experience working closely with payroll processes.
•    Knowledge of HR information systems; SuccessFactors and ADP preferred
•    Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both verbally and written with employees at all levels as well as outside vendors.
•    Thorough knowledge of HR laws including CA state laws, management principles and best practices for mitigating legal risks related to employment and ensuring regulatory compliance.
•    Commitment to continuous learning and looking for ways to become more efficient and improving processes. 
•    Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality of employee data, use sound judgment, critical thinking, analytical and problem solving skills.
•    Demonstrated ability to understand and follow directions.  Read and interpret business reports and to make independent decisions.
•    Demonstrated ability to work effectively with a team and develop positive, collaborative relationships with peers and employees across the organization.
•    This candidate must be a self-starter with strict attention to detail and the ability to multi-task a variety of assignments seeing each to resolution.
•    Demonstrated organizational, time management and prioritization skills while working under pressure, ability to adapt to constantly changing business needs.
•    Reliable internet connectivity. 
•    Proficient knowledge and skill level required in use of Microsoft Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint, Advanced Excel including Pivot Tables and Conditional formatting preferred.
•    HR Certification preferred (PHR or SHRM-CP).
