Associate Underwriter - WKFC

Position Summary:
This position requires the ability to underwrite property accounts, provide technical expertise in this area, maintain and improve market growth regionally.
Essential Functions:
- The underwriting, rating, quoting, and binding property accounts in accordance with RSUM guidelines specific to your Underwriting Letter of Authority granted by the team leader and/or Chief Underwriting Officer.
- Assist in developing, enhancing, and maintaining underwriting methods and techniques, achieving underwriting integrity in a cost-effective manner.
- Complete documentation and management of all accounts assigned.
- Ability to handle a relatively high volume of transactions, of small and mid-sized accounts of varying complexity.
- Underwriters are accountable to permissible loss/ratio standards.
- Participate in underwriting meetings/educational seminars/continued education courses.
- Other relevant duties as assigned
Education/Experience/Skills:
- 3+ years commercial property underwriter experience.
- Bachelor’s degree or commensurate education and/or work experience.
- AIM agency management system skills highly desirable.
- Demonstrated proficient technical underwriting expertise.
- Strong analytical, mathematical, decision making and negotiation skills.
- Self-directed, goal oriented Individual with problem-solving skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
- Customer service skills: listening and understanding client business priorities.
- Strong relationship development skills.
- Ability to set priorities and meet challenging deadlines.
- Critical attention to details.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office including, but not limited to Outlook, Word, Excel.
- Proven track record of being a team player.
- May be required to have and maintain a valid driver’s license.
