Position Summary:

The Business Analyst, Implementations will primarily be responsible for the building, integration and maintenance of transactional and analytical web-based systems for our portfolio MGAs. The analyst will work closely with the Implementation Manager, development team and other staff in all phases of the software development lifecycle including requirements elicitation, system design, development management, QA, release management and post hoc analysis as needed. This position will require collaboration at all levels of the organization from staff level employees to upper management. Additionally, this role will require 0-25% travel to MGA office locations. 

Essential Functions:
  • Produce user stories, tasks, workflows, UI/UX specifications, relational database designs, stored procedures and system documentation based on business requirements
  • Produce and execute test plans to ensure software meets business requirements, is bug-free and to support release management
  • Provide software impact analyses
  • Provide complex business performance analysis 
  • Serve as the ultimate escalation point for end user issues that may require developer intervention
  • Assist in troubleshooting complex software problems
  • Participate in the proactive identification and prototyping of potential new features
  • Create data-driven PowerPoint slides for high level discussions
  • Bachelor’s in Management Information Systems or similar and 0-2 years’ experience or any Bachelor’s degree and 2-4 years’ experience in a role associated with business analysis or technical projects with a strong record of achievement
  • Excellent communication abilities with employees of varying technical knowledge at all organizational levels
  • Strong analytical skills and business acumen
  • Entrepreneurial, self-starting mindset with a desire to learn and improve
  • Intermediate SQL development skills and relational database knowledge
  • Intermediate ability with MS Excel
  • Familiarity with SDLC phases and concepts
  • Foundational IT knowledge (MS office, general windows OS use)
  • Insurance industry knowledge
  • Experience working with global teams
  • Familiarity with .NET web applications
  • Familiarity with SQL server
  • Experience with R, Python or other analytical frameworks a plus but not required
