Corporate Accounting Manager

Position Summary:
The Corporate Accounting Manager is responsible for developing and maintaining best-in-class policies and procedures and leading a team of professionals to implement and monitor adherence to those policies and procedures.
Essential Functions:
- Lead Accounts Payable, Payroll, and T&E teams and drive employee development by setting short term and long term objectives, appraising performance, and identifying training.
- Develop strong cross-functional relationships between Finance Operations and other corporate and business areas.
- Responsible for the development and maintenance of AP, Payroll, and T&E policies and procedures, including documentation and dissemination
- Manage coordination of the monthly close process, including the setting of vendor accruals, reconciling general ledger accounts.
- Monitor the coding of specific transactions to ensure they are consistent with the Company’s chart of account definitions and correspond to appropriate profit/cost centers.
- Validate that items scheduled to be paid meet all policy requirements (e.g., items are properly authorized and meet business needs).
- Drive improvements in working capital management and vendor relationship (e.g., transition vendors from paper check remittance to electronic remittance, maximize vendor payment terms).
- Identify efficiencies and implement improvements.
- Manage and execute special projects as needed.
Education/Experience/Skills:
- Bachelor's Degree and CPA
- Seven to ten (7-10) years of financial management experience including the day-to-day financial operations of an organization.
- Working knowledge of control frameworks.
- Experience of control review and audit and identifying and implementing process improvements.
- Strong problem solving and creative skills.
- Strong presentation and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent written and oral communication.
