Position Summary:

Highly analytical and computer-oriented analyst to support automation efforts around creating efficient CAT processes and developing CAT Analytical and reporting tools.

Essential Functions:

  • Automate efficient CAT modeling and Analytical process and reporting
  • Develop CAT Analytical Solutions for account and portfolio Management
  • Development and implement Analytical Prototype Tools
  • Develop Cat Technical requirements for Main Frame systems
  • Interact with IT Team for integration and implementation of CAT analytics
  • Perform Model evaluation and Validation of CAT models
  • Collaborate and support the development of advanced portfolio management analytics
  • Other relevant duties as assigned


May also be required to assist with following functions when needed:

  • Process submission data files, modeling the policy options and locations in Riskbrowser / Risklink
  • Model multiple policy options on a timely manner and communicating the results to underwriters / brokers.
  • Document assumptions and updating data and model dictionaries.
  • Post bind modeling of accounts with final bound schedules and terms.
  • Communicate portfolio analytic reports to MGU leads and senior management.
  • Participate with the actuarial team in providing integrated business solutions


  • Bachelor’s degree in science, engineering, mathematics, finance or related field. 
  • Excellent computer skills, including MS Office, VBA, SQL, R, C# or Python.
  • Must be familiar with writing queries and stored procedures in SQL and programming Excel VBA code
  • Strong knowledge of mathematical and statics principles
  • Knowledge of GIS applications and programming
  • Business of Business Intelligence reporting tools like Tableau
  • Familiar developing Alteryx workflows 
  • Excellent analytical, communication, interpersonal, presentation and organizational skills.
  • Strong business and collaborative skills, and responsive to service needs and operational demands.
  • Ability to manage workload with minimal supervision.
  • Critical attention to details.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office including, but not limited to Outlook, Word, Excel.
  • Proven track record of being a team player.


Preferred, but not required:

  • Experience in using catastrophe models, including RMS and AIR and a broad understanding of statistical methods used in CAT models (AALs, EP)
  • A good understanding of property insurance business.
