Position Summary:

Ryan Specialty is a leading international specialty insurance firm which offers wholesale brokerage services, delegated underwriting expertise in the form of binding authorities, programs and highly specialized managing general underwriting companies, and other services designed specifically for brokers, agents and insurers. Ryan Specialty’s mission is to be the most trusted trading partner of insurance brokers, agents and insurance carriers. The Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Manager will serve as the leader accountable for developing and implementing specific DEI initiatives within Ryan Specialty. This role will be responsible for advancing Inclusion as a core value and critical components within Ryan Specialty’s organization's culture and provide leadership support with executing on Ryan Specialty’s DEI plan. This Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Manager will be responsible with the build out and management of core projects within Ryan Specialty’s DEI Framework: Employee Life Cycle, DEI Cross Functional Committee, Community Engagement, Industry Engagement, and Employee Resource Groups.  

Essential Functions:

  • Create, lead, and support a Multicultural Employee Resource Group (ERG), and any other ERGs that develop in the future.
  • Partner with and support our WOW! Women’s Employee Resource Group (ERG) focused on Women’s initiatives.
  • Partner with our Procurement leaders to create a Supplier Diversity Program. 
  • Partner and support our Global/International offices to drive DEI initiatives.
  • Identify and build relationships with DEI practitioners from across the Insurance industry and lead the efforts to partner and work together.
  • Work on miscellaneous projects: volunteerism, employee stories, communications/marketing, social media, presentations, dashboard/metrics, project plan, meetings logistics, administrative tasks, etc.

Education/Experience/Skills:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in DEI, Human Resources, or related field.
  • In lieu of a degree, 10+ years of experience in DEI, Human Resources, or related field.
  • Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DEI) professional certification preferred but not required.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to interact with management and other professionals across functional areas of the organization.
  • Demonstrated project management skills to manage multiple priorities and tasks.
  • Ability to design and implement a wide array of DEI programs.
