Position Summary:

The position will be responsible for managing all aspects of RT events, sponsorships, and donations. With an attention to detail mindset, the Events Manager role combines creativity and analytical thinking to provide polished events for RT Specialty.  The Events Manager will direct all aspects of the event and coordinate others to ensure a successful event occurs.

Essential Functions:

  • Responsible for planning, facilitation, and execution of all RT Specialty events or assisting with local events where requested.
  • Plan and manage all event operations including booking venues and food/drink, scheduling. speakers, coordinating A/V needs and other requirements working within financial and time. constraints.  Provide input for budget considerations prior to event planning.
  • Get proposals/quotes from and compare different vendors displaying effective negotiation. techniques (catering, decorators, musicians etc.).
  • Coordinate and oversee event personnel.
  • Track the overall event expenses.
  • Offer solutions to resolve problems in a timely manner.
  • Evaluate event’s success (and/or failure) providing suggestion for improvements, etc. 
  • Lead promotional and informational activities for the event in conjunction with Ryan Specialty. Marketing (save the date, invite, social media, etc).
  • Maintain event supply inventory (banners, tablecloths, etc).
  • Ensure all content on Operations’ Event portal page and Z drive is kept up to date.
  • Process Requests for membership or association dues
  • Help RT Specialty colleagues obtain approval and submit appropriate information for sponsorships. and donations activities.
  • Track and evaluate all sponsorships allowing analysis to be completed yearly.
     

Education/Experience/Skills:

  • High School Diploma.  
  • 2+ years of related event management experience.
  • 3+ years of related project management experience. 
  • Event planning and facilitation experience. 
  • Excellent customer service and organizational skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Ability to effectively manage time and priorities.
