Position Summary:

The Financial Analyst provides the RSGUM division day-to-day financial support, reports financial results as well as manages recurring reporting and analytical projects.  The Financial Analyst is responsible for budgeting, forecasting, analysis, expense efficiency, reporting, and business support.

Essential Functions:

  • Prepare accurate key deliverables, including monthly variance analyses, annual financial budgets, interim forecast updates, and other ad hoc analyses.
  • Evaluate the performance of acquisitions, capital expenditures, and other investments to draw insights into value drivers.
  • Provide timely reports with financial insight to allow business partners to improve performance.
  • Collaborate with business partners to identify emerging issues.
  • Drive conversations with leadership to understand business implications of current trends.
  • Use analysis to influence and drive action within RSGUM by using fact-based, holistic, and forward-looking perspectives.
  • Prepare and help build storyline for financial updates.
  • Develop and lead effective presentations.
  • Implement and maintain multiple data sources for reporting purposes.
  • Conduct due diligence, market research and industry analysis related to future M&A and current MGUs.

Education/Experience/Skills:

  • Undergraduate degree in finance, accounting, economics, mathematics, or statistics.
  • One to three years of financial analysis or related field.
  • Strong analytical skills, work-ethic, including ability to follow-up, focus on details, and take initiatives.
  • General business knowledge (e.g., deep financial skills/flow of numbers).
  • Strong ability to create analyses and reports using a variety of tools (e.g., Advance Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Excellent interpersonal, presentation, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently in an undefined work environment.
  • Ability to take initiative, guide, and influence others toward goal accomplishment.
  • Effective time management and organizational skills with a proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Financial analysis experience in an insurance company or financial service organization preferred.
