Position Summary:

The Procurement Specialist will lead supplier management and internal business partners through sourcing activities and contract negotiations as well as manage supplier relationships and measure supplier performance.    This will also include analyzing category data and executing specific plans/objectives within specific categories and projects per direction of the supervisor.  This position is also responsible to work cross functionally to identify areas of improvement and develop solutions that will optimize the overall project while reducing total costs.

Essential Functions:

  • Support Vice President and Procurement Manager on all activities and work to identify future sourcing opportunities
  • Provide deep analytical support 
  • Developing spend profiles
  • Manage end to end RFIs, RFQs and RFPs
  • Supplier proposals and supplier negotiations
  • Work with internal customers to develop scope of work and bid documents for RFPs
  • Support the implementation of cost reduction initiatives
  • Execute supplier performance management techniques
  • Interact with cross-functional teams
  • Draft and prepare contractual documents for the procurement of services including Master Agreements, Non-Disclosure Agreements and Statement of Work for law department review
  • Maintain all contracts within database 
  • Work with operations personnel to optimize the deployment of material resources and to maximize operational efficiencies and satisfy client demands
  • Support corporate quality and improvement process
  • Maintain and update Procurement intranet site 
  • Verify and approve invoices for payment
  • Perform other related administrative duties as needed

Education/Experience/Skills:

  • Bachelor degree preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in procuring business services
  • Strong computer skills including: Excel, Word, Power Point, purchasing and contract management systems
  • Knowledge of contractual terms and conditions, understanding of intellectual property issues in relation to external services, high competency level at comprehending contract language and identifying legal risks
  • Knowledge and experience managing enterprise wide IT, Infrastructure and software licensing
  • Demonstrated ability to build strong relationships with colleagues, internal partners and external vendors
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.  Experience working directly with  multiple levels of management
  • Must be a quick study, proven ability to manage change, strong decision maker, ability to work under pressure, handle multiple projects and aggressively pursue  deadlines independently
  • Proven ability to effectively organize and prioritize
