Position Summary:

The Product Manager will be responsible for the development, strategy, maintenance and execution of insurance products on RSG’s digital distribution platform (called “The Connector”). This position is integral to driving insurance product strategy for The Connector and online automation of commercial insurance, and will involve close collaboration with the Director of Products & Underwriting.

Essential Functions:
  • This role will be responsible for Product Development & Carrier Management.
  • Identify target capacity specifications for each line of business (class codes, geographies, products, coverages, etc.)
  • Contributes to the insurance product delivery lifecycle including product definition and target classes/industries, formulation and development of carrier specific underwriting business requirements, as well as product testing/ final release of the product.
  • Approve underwriting guideline changes and additions, as well as participate in Audits.  
  • Monitor effectiveness of existing product(s) and look for opportunities to further refine, streamline and improve.
  • Identify opportunities to add products and cross sell other products on The Connector.  
  • Work closely with the Compliance Department to ensure ongoing compliance.  
  • Track and monitor retail broker feedback to ensure a high level of satisfaction.
  • Maintain strong communication with internal teams (PMO, marketing, compliance, actuarial, Vendors, etc.)
  • Responsible for monitoring performance of assigned line(s) of business, profitability, and exposure profile of book and top line growth (including other carrier and Connector Key Performance Indicators (KPIs))
  • Establish and cultivate carrier relationships and maintain strong communication with carriers.
  • Collaborate with our marketing team to develop tools to drive adoption of The Connector and assist in the training of sales and other field personnel.
  • Deliver marketing materials including writing white papers, data sheets, and presentations.
  • Identify market segments and provide recommendations for product strategies related to the development of new products within the marketplace.
Education/Experience/Skills:
  • Bachelor’s degree, ACSR, CPCU, or similar designation preferred
  • At least 5 years of experience in brokerage and/or underwriting E&S commercial insurance environment
  • Experience with online, web based, distribution of commercial insurance
  • Ability to think critically and objectively about the commercial considerations associated with developing and launching insurance products on The Connector.
  • Cultivate interpersonal customer and co-worker relationships. This includes being adept at interacting with development engineers and multiple business organizations.
  • Experienced handling multiple deliverables, including moving adeptly between internal and external issues and interactions.
  • Willingness to take on new responsibilities and work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation communication skills. 
  • Ability to read, interpret, and write complex information.
  • Willingness to attend industry conferences and pursue educational opportunities related to the role.
