Ryan Specialty Group is looking for a Senior HR Specialist to join our Corporate team in Chicago, IL. We are a fast paced, energetic and rapidly growing organization that offers a great opportunity for someone interested in further developing their career. 

Position Summary:

The Senior HR Specialist will support the Human Resources team with facilitating the day-to-day operations of Human Resources including auditing, data analysis, and reporting.

Essential Functions:
  • Responsible for review and creation of purchase orders to process invoices for HR related expenses.
  • Audit of biweekly US and monthly Non US pay related transactions to ensure data accuracy, timeliness and proper approvals are obtained.
  • Conduct regular audits and analysis of HR data including employee files to make sure pending, active and temporary files are complete and onboarding documents related to merger and acquisition activities are accurate.
  • Conduct regular audits and follow ups of meal and break period compliance and PTO usage.
  • Assist with communication to employees of missed benefit payments.
  • Create HR Reports to analyze data and HR metrics to identify trends and patterns with attention to recruitment, hiring practices, and turnover.
  • Prepare periodic government, workers compensation and benefits reports.
  • Undertake ad-hoc projects both through own initiative and on request to ensure a continually developing and efficient HR function, making a strong contribution to improvements in effectiveness of the organization.
  • Other special projects as assigned.
  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • 4+ years experience working within an HR department to include the use of an HRIS system.
  • 1 yr solid HR auditing experience.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Experience analyzing data points and distilling into an executive summary.
  • Meticulous attention to detail.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information maintaining a high level of confidentiality.
  • Demonstrated ability to work well within a fast paced, team environment.
