Ryan Specialty is looking for a Solution Analyst to join our Chicago, IL team. Position Summary:

The Solution Analyst supports strategic business initiatives to deliver and maintain a digital insurance engagement and underwriting platform for use by Ryan Specialty and its insurance distribution partners.  This position is focused on software solutions, therefore, requires a greater technical focus.  This position serves as an important link between our solution and our business objectives by supporting and ensuring the successful completion of requirements gathering, design, building, testing, deployment, and maintenance tasks of the solution lifecycle.   The Solution Analyst is heavily engaged in the systems lifecycle.  As a “bridge” between the business subject matter experts and the development team, the Solution Analyst is an important linkage between business requirements and solution delivery.
 

Essential Functions:

  • Work closely with the Domain Solution Owner to create consumable requirements for the development team.
  • Support the Domain Solution Owner in all aspects of solution delivery, including testing, implementation, and maintenance.
  • Report on common sources of technical issues or questions and make recommendations.
  • Participate in agile team sprint planning, and sprint retrospectives.
  • Participate in department meetings, provide input and suggestions.
  • Basic knowledge in generating process documentation.
  • Provide weekly status reports to summarizing accomplishments/issues of the past week.
  • Assist in gathering information on software, equipment and supplies as needed.
  • Perform special projects as assigned.

Education/Experience/Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in business or technology field
  • Previous experience in business / systems analysis, quality assurance, software company product management, or software solution implementation/consulting
  • Prior experience in the property and casualty insurance industry is desirable
  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation communication skills
  • Ability to manage workload with minimal supervision
  • Critical attention to details
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office including, but not limited to Outlook, Word, Excel
  • Proven track record of being a team player
