Ryan Specialty Group is looking for a Training Specialist to join our Chicago, IL office. We are a fast paced, energetic and rapidly growing organization that offers a great opportunity for someone interested in developing their insurance career.

Position Summary:

This position will provide business support with regard to a variety of training needs.  The ideal candidate will have knowledge and prior experience in helping with the design and implementation of training to include both classroom and online solutions.  The position will require outstanding verbal and written communication skills, as well as the ability to work with employees at all levels.  Technology will play an important role in the implementation of training solutions and this role will require an individual with strong technical aptitude.  Ability to work in a fast-paced, constantly evolving environment with strong attention to detail and focus on planning.  Superior time management skills and follow up to ensure projects are completed under various deadlines are a must. 

Essential Functions:

  • Will participate in the selection of vendors to provide training solutions.
  • Will work closely with selected vendors to customize training solutions on such topics as Compliance, Cyber Security, Harassment and Discrimination and other key topics.
  • Once training solutions are designed, will be responsible for implementation to include uploading employee data, rolling out training and all subsequent communications.
  • Will be responsible for meeting all compliance related timelines regarding training completion
  • Will be responsible for ensuring all training and education as well as designations sought by employees for reimbursement are approved, meet established company guidelines and tracked appropriately.
  • Will coordinate with accounting on the payment of all approved reimbursable training and education related expenses.
  • Will support the design and implementation of all ad-hoc training and employee designation support and tracking (i.e. CPA).
  • Ability to conduct a needs analysis and recommend training solutions.
  • Ability to participate in the facilitation of training.
  • Responsible for providing analytics with regard to training completion rates, reimbursable training spend, and other training related analytics.
  • Will coordinate and support new hire training, orientation and rotational programs.
  • Will support business requests for administering surveys and 360 feedback.

Education/Experience/Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a training specialist role in a corporate environment.
  • Proven ability to design and implement training solutions as well as prior facilitation experience.  
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
  • Excellent organization, writing, editing and grammatical skills.
  • Superior interpersonal skills.
  • Organization Skills: Extremely organized and very detail-oriented; self-motivated and capable of working independently on multiple projects.
  • Familiarity in the coordination of uploading employee data with selected vendors and/or working knowledge within a LMS.
  • Ability to travel as needed to deliver training solutions.
