Position Summary:

The Analytics Specialist will ultimately be responsible for data analysis, trend analysis, and statistical review of all of our company metrics to be able to provide decision makers with information to improve efficiency and profitability. The position will work with a variety of departments to source, dissect, sort, analyze, manipulate, and report data to identify patterns and trends in our business. Significant focus will be placed on the communication of this data in an appropriate and timely fashion to Executives, Managers, Supervisors, Underwriters, and others as needed.

Essential Functions:

  • Work closely with other departments/employees to source data and metrics about all processes and results in the organization.
  • Manipulate and analyze data to identify trends and patterns.
  • Strong problem solving skills, finding solutions from a breadth of statistical and mathematical knowledge.
  • Must be able to sell ideas to decision makers and have them understand the reasoning behind them.
  • Design, build, and implement new report formats and layouts on a customized basis.
  • Maintain an adequate level of knowledge of utilities and programs used to maintain our current data/reports.
  • Coordinate with partners and/or external vendors on projects work with the IT and Operations teams to create solutions to internal employees and external customers.
  • Participate in department meetings, provide input and suggestions.
  • Provide weekly status reports to department manager summarizing accomplishments/issues of the past week.
  • Assist in gathering information on software, data, and reports as needed.
  • Other relevant duties as assigned.


  • Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Data Science, Business Analytics, Machine Learning, Actuarial Sciences, Mathematics, Quantitative Marketing, or a related field is preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience of hands-on application of data and trend analysis and reporting is preferred.
  • Must be proficient with one or more quantitative data analysis languages such as R, SAS, MATLAB, Julia, SQL or NumPy. Report writing experience with Microsoft Excel is preferred.
  • Able to communicate effectively and professionally with internal employees and external vendors.
  • Work cooperatively with others to set goals, resolve problems and make decisions to enhance organizational effectiveness.
  • Must be able to travel locally to accommodate business needs.
  • Ability to multi-task; set priorities, develop a work schedule, monitor progress towards goals and evaluate processes/results.
  • Ability to perform job duties and manage work load with little or no supervision.
  • Ability to meet designated deadlines with strong sense of urgency.
  • Must have reliable travel accommodations. May be required to perform local travel prior, during or after business hours.
  • May be required to have and maintain a valid driver’s license.
