Position Summary:

The Underwriter Technical Assistant – RTS is responsible for reviewing inspections for insurance policies, and performing the appropriate tasks associated with each inspection and carrier. May specialize in Commercial, Property and Casualty, and/or Surplus Lines.

Essential Functions:

  • Review inspections received from our in house and brokerage carriers
  • Provide additional information to Resource Pro as requested
  • Monitor inspection results to assist managers with possible underwriting changes
  • Manually order inspections when needed
  • Review and compare recent inspections with previous inspections for any issues
  • Assist agents with any inspection disputes or errors
  • All tasks will be performed in accordance with carrier and state guidelines
  • May provide assistance with Renewal File set up
  • May specialize in cancellation, non-renewal, and reinstatement notices.
  • Other duties as assigned

Education/Experience/Skills:

  • Associate's degree, P & C License, or other insurance related designation preferred
  • 1-3 years of insurance experience preferred
  • Experience and understanding of residential inspections and/or claim experience
  • Able to successfully prioritize and manage inspection timelines, handle frequent changes effectively and professionally and follow through on issues in a timely manner
  • Ability to understand a since of urgency and empathy towards clients and their insured’s needs
  • Knowledge of Computer Systems
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize daily duties as assigned
  • Ability to communicate with coworkers and clients professionally
  • Attentions to detail and the ability to organize complex information neatly and accurately
  • Self- started that works well independently and in a team
  • Solid work ethic and a professional, proactive and positive approach to work
  • Strong quantitative and analytical ability and internet research, organization and communication skills
