RSG Underwriting Managers, a division of Ryan Specialty is looking for a Business Development Executive to join our Hunt Valley, Maryland team. Position Summary:

The Business Development Executive will primarily focus on building high end MGA broker relationships and driving submission activity in the assigned region. The candidate will assist in providing, sales, marketing and business development support to the assigned region as well as assist the underwriting team with important agency relationships. This position will be multi-faceted and involve daily responsibilities including agency visits, new agency development, relationship management, social media and marketing campaigns.

Essential Functions:

  • Relationship management of current and new agency/broker relationships.
  • Work with EVP, Sales & Marketing on National Broker Strategy.
  • Assist with travel and appointment setting for Underwriting Team.
  • Travel to brokers for face to face business development meetings (approx. 8 to 10 days/month).
  • Develop social media strategy and manage content for Region.
  • Assist with the management of all marketing collateral, including websites, brochures, flyers and slide presentations.
  • Utilize Microsoft CRM data to manage and analyze assigned Regional business relationships as well as develop relationship management plan.
  • Work with Underwriting Team as needed to finalize the placement of business.
  • Other relevant duties as assigned. 

Education/Experience/Skills:

  • Bachelor’s Degree.
  • 5 to 7 years’ experience at carrier, MGA or National brokerage firm.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.
  • Strong Knowledge of Social Networking and mobile media.
  • Ability to move fast, be bold, and thrive in a dynamic, quickly changing environment.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to develop key producer relationships.
  • Ability to manage workload with minimal supervision
  • Critical attention to details.
  • Proven track record of being a team player
  • Demonstrated ability to think strategically about complex issues and develop sound resolutions.
  • Strong analytical, decision making and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to multitask and adhere to deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently at a remote location outside the Corporate Headquarters.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
