Position Summary:

The SQL Software Engineer within RT Specialty will play a critical role in designing, creating, and implementing a wide variety of business process improvements. This role will collaborate with business constituents along with IT management and resources responsible for line of business systems and software development. Major efforts and area of influence will include, but not be limited to, data upload, download, system integrations, along with data collection enhancements and validations.

Essential Functions:
  • Collaboration with business and IT leaders to design and implement automation solutions.
  • Vendor interactions to scope effort and ensure solution efficacy.
  • Partner with Business Analyst to help document and scope automation projects.
  • Create and expand interface and electronic interaction capability for RT’s line of business systems.
  • Help select vendors to expand line of business interfaces to include data capture and backfill.
  • Work closely with internal processing units, surplus lines tax filing, and accounting to help streamline and automate their activities.
  • Support the consolidation of line of business systems to include conversions and closing of functional gaps.
  • Continually seek for solutions to increase operational efficiency, reduce keystrokes, and enhance data collection.
  • Other relevant duties as assigned.
Education/Experience/Skills:
  • 5+ years in E&S insurance line of business system administration or support.
  • Strong command of SQL and experience extracting and manipulating business data.
  • 5+ years database administration experience with Microsoft SQL Server.
  • Ability to manage workload with minimal supervision.
  • Critical attention to details.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office including, but not limited to Outlook, Word, Excel.
  • Proven track record of being a team player.
