Position Summary:

The ideal candidate has a strong insurance background, excellent organizational and management skills, and experience in project management and process optimization and is seeking a career in a rapidly expanding company that provides targeted capital investments in talent and companies. The Senior Operations Business Analyst will be responsible for strategic operations reviews, process improvement and optimization initiatives, and project management.  The Senior Operations Business Analyst will engage our mission of excellence and assist in driving productivity, efficiency, continual process improvement and innovation. (Note that this is not an IT role.)

Essential Functions:

  • Manage operational analysis, process improvement and process optimization efforts for the policy operations team and in engagement with multiple RSGUM businesses.  
  • Provide experiences guidance on operational effectiveness and recommendations for operational process optimization.  
  • Interact with operations staff, Ryan Specialty business entities, and cross-functional disciplines in conducting operational effectiveness assessments
  • Drive process improvement and innovation efforts to continually improve our services for the businesses that we support.
  • Lead project management for all operations team initiatives and ensure proper documentation of processes and procedures for all internal functions and the services delivered to our customers.
  • Communicate effectively with management, business leaders, underwriters and operations staff to secure the information necessary to accurately process the business.
  • Communicate effectively with the operations staff, corporate leadership and senior leadership of the businesses that we support.
  • Create and distribute routine and ad-hoc reports as assigned.
  • Collaborates with resources across the organization to pursue continual process optimization and innovation.  

Education/Experience/Skills:

  • BA/BS degree in business and/or an operations or project management related field required.
  • 7+ years of experience in project management in an operations environment, insurance experience and experience with underwriting / operations service teams, industry best practices, core underwriting systems/applications. 
  • 4 years of project management experience and utilizing project management methodologies required.
  • Strong knowledge of the property & casualty insurance industry, particularly MGA/MGU experience, highly preferred, as well as insurance terminology and the commercial insurance policy lifecycle.  
  • Established record of project management, operational efficiency and process improvement and/or optimization. 
  • Intermediate to advanced MS Office (Excel, Word, Visio, Access, Project, Powerpoint) skills required. 
  • Experience managing process documentation and workflow design in a fast-paced business environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, attention to detail, accuracy, and data integrity and strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to maintain standards of quality and quantity of output as established by management.
  • Desire and drive to foster teamwork in a collaborative environment and ability to work well within a team and to continually learn in a fast paced and constantly changing environment.
