RT Specialty, a division of Ryan Specialty Group is looking for an Operations Manager to join our regional team. We are a fast paced, energetic and rapidly growing organization that offers a great opportunity for someone interested in further developing their career.

Position Summary:

The Operations Manager will be responsible for both the execution of operations-based projects & tasks and supervising an operations team assigned to these projects & tasks within the portfolio. This role will ultimately be responsible for the progress and delivery of the entire project, including prioritization, status reporting, executive read-outs and stakeholder communications.

Essential Functions:
  • Own and manage multiple projects and tasks.
  • Manage staff working on projects and tasks.
  • Manage projects and tasks according to RSG’s standards and best practices.
  • Track and provide regular reporting on projects and tasks.
  • Track and provide regular reporting on key business metrics.
  • Provide recommendations on workflow/technology/staffing improvements.
  • Facilitate conversations in order to extract and document requirements and use cases.
  • Partner with functional and technical SME’s to document business and technical processes and improve operational efficiency.
  • Support and troubleshoot issues (process & system), identify root causes, and proactively implement sustainable corrective actions.
  • Establish and serve as a subject matter expert in operational training development and standard operating procedures.
  • Collaborate with department managers to perform root cause analysis and continuously improve owned operational processes.
  • Own and manage current tracking systems for the operations team.
  • Own the hiring and onboarding of new operations employees.
  • Development, manage and update of a PMO and best practices.
  • Manage internal project documents and creation/maintenance of document storage site.
  • Partner with and develop strong stakeholder relationships with business leaders - this includes working closely with other business units within RSG.
  • Assist with leading, training and managing a diverse team for overall organizational success.
  • Partner with development teams to implement new technologies, resolve issues, and maintain minimal system disruption.
Education/Experience/Skills:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Operations/IT/Communications or equivalent work experience.
  • 5+ years’ experience in operational role including business analysis, metrics gathering, and managing use cases and functional / technical requirements creation.
  • 5+ years’ experience interacting with all levels of management and stakeholders
  • 5+ years managing teams of diverse professionals
  • Experience in project management with delivery accountability.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills; able to communicate effectively at all-levels within the organization and in high-pressure situations.
  • Experience in Information Technology/Post Production environments with a variety of software disciplines.
  • Demonstrates initiative and ability to work independently with little supervision.
  • Exceptional technical, analytical, organization, research, and presentation skills
  • Ability to lead and present program information in face-to-face presentations to varied audiences; including executive management.
  • Experience working in an Agile environment; knowledge of SCRUM framework a plus.
  • Must be analytical and process-oriented and able to apply structure to complex situations.
