Position Summary:
The Systems Analyst, working in the Digital & Technical Solutions (D&TS) Technical Services Team, partners with the (D&TS) Product Solution Owners and works closely to derive, design, and implement business solutions to support the organization. This includes analyzing business requirements to support business functions, process knowledge, and system requirements. The Systems Analyst is responsible for supporting development and configuration, maintenance, and enhancements to systems and applications. This includes providing technical analysis, application testing, and database analysis within our MS SQL Server environment. The Systems Analyst will apply proven project methodology, communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills to help maximize the benefit of the organization’s business system investments, workflows, configuration, reporting, and other procedures. Applying good query and configuration techniques, this person will become adept at defensive methods to protect the company’s mission critical business systems.
Essential Functions:
- Collaborate in the planning, design, development, and deployment of projects.
- Configure systems and applications according to scope and parameters around implementation projects.
- Prototype new procedures within applications for the purpose of enhancing business processes, operations, and information process flow for various business units.
- Conduct pre-User Acceptance Testing, including unit and regression testing, to ensure that documented business requirements are met.
- Utilize technology to provide a fast, accurate, and secure method of gaining access to information to service the customer in the fastest and most efficient manner possible.
- Prepare and deliver reports, recommendations, or alternatives for improving business processes in operating systems across the organization.
- Communicate changes, enhancements, and modifications – verbally or through written documentation – to management, peers, staff, and other employees so that issues and solutions are understood.
- Comply with SOX compliance and Infosec guidelines
Education/Experience/Skills:
- Associates degree in management information systems or business administration OR business systems experience in the insurance industry and minimum 2 years related work experience.
- Proven experience with business and technical requirements analysis, business process modeling/mapping, project methodology, and implementation.
- Experience overseeing the design, development, and implementation of software and hardware solutions, systems, or products.
- Experience with project methodology and management tools.
- Extensive practical knowledge in importing/leveraging data for use in spreadsheets, graphs, and flowcharts.
- Experience with MS SQL Server Management Studio and Tools (SSRS, SSIS) is preferred.
- Extensive experience with software applications, including Adobe Acrobat, Microsoft Office - Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Visio, and Project.
- Ability to exercise independent judgment and act on it.

- Occasionally implementations may require work to happen outside of regular business hours –nights, weekends or holidays may be scheduled to meet client project deadlines.
