RT Specialty, a division of Ryan Specialty Group is looking for a Software Development Engineer to join our team. We are a fast paced, energetic and rapidly growing organization that offers a great opportunity for someone interested in further developing their career. (This role can be remote)

Position Summary:

The Software Development Engineer is responsible for a wide variety of application development and support processes. They are part of a divisional IT team based in Tulsa, OK. The team develops enterprise caliber software applications on the Microsoft .Net platform. The team is led by managers with software development backgrounds and strives to use modern practices and technologies to develop software the right way. We strive to create a dynamic team environment that encourages collaboration among developers to the benefit of the team and the ultimate business user.

Essential Functions:

  • Directs, prepares, designs, codes, tests, debugs, and maintains complex computer programs.
  • Under general direction, formulates and defines system scope and objectives.
  • Works with users to support business applications, and investigate operational problems/system requirements.
  • Devises or modifies procedures to solve complex problems considering computer equipment capacity and limitations, operating time, and form of desired results.
  • Prepares detailed specifications from which programs will be written.
  • Designs, codes, tests, debugs, and documents those programs.
  • May be responsible for completion of a phase of a project.
  • Solves user inquiries that arise during day-to-day operation.
  • Other relevant duties as assigned.

Education/Experience/Skills:

  • C#.
  • WebAPI.
  • SOLID Object Oriented Development Skills.
  • Agile/Scrum Experience.
  • Works collaboratively as part of a larger team.
  • Excellent organizational along with time and task management skills.
  • Ability to manage workload with minimal supervision.
  • Critical attention to details.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office including, but not limited to Outlook, Word, Excel.
  • Proven track record of being a team player.
  • May be required to have and maintain a valid driver’s license.
